I prefer EGT as the sensors are very hardy (I make my own), and on a racing circuit, there is time to have a glance at the end of the straight (or just after with an Alfano with mem hold selected). I use lambda on the speedway because the display is quick and easy to read, especially because 1/2 the racing is at night. 3 out of 5 that I have used, failed on the first run, but the other 2 have lasted "forever". A lambda sensor can be a bit "unreliable". On unrestricted engines, you have the choice. You cannot use EGT on a restricted engine (Boyles Law), so Lambda is the only option. I know a couple of guys that use the lambada with tthe Alfano but not sure with a Mychron. I used to have esitune on the RL but didnt bother when i swapped to the X30. there really isnt that much tuning involved. Honestly, wouldnt waste the money on them for the leopards. Hence, what do you do when you don't trust the lights or your ears? kristian harris said:įinally bourkey !!! good to see you are getting a leopard. Apparently it wasn't actually four-stroking.tone deaf I think. Last time I did it by ear the engine didn't survive, even though the lights said it was all good. Been a long time since I've tuned successfully by ear - reckon it might get expensive. I have often wondered about the lambda sensor for the mychron but figured it was not going to be as useful as tune lights which are cheaper also. The tune lights make it good to be able to tune low and high speed jets on the run but it also pays to just check the plug from time to time doesnt hurt still.

Check your plug for colour -) Like in the good old days before electronics.
